Everyone needs to read this regardless of being on Twitter, Tumblr, or wherever you might pick this up from. Regardless of the manner you found this, Welcome, and enjoy. The point of this post is to inform everyone, and explain the works going on over at Nekor (Sick clothing line out of LA), and it’s association with Tyler and I, here in Houston.
Now, Nekor (www.nekor.com), although a clothing line, is also a symbol. An amalgamation of creativity, beauty, chaos, purpose, reasoning, and art, marketing primarily to those of the public who have a vision. A vision of originality, regardless of what the socio-pop-culture that plagues this country says about them. It is for artists, free-thinkers, innovators… those who have a genuine love for counter-culture (hippies, possibly excluded), and love for going against the grain. It, to me, represents the struggle of man, in the modern day, to both pursue what he loves regardless the obstacles, and to pursue success out of that love, even when it means sacrifice. It’s truly a beautiful thing that the VAST majority of people have lost recently… the ability to think freely. This is the embodiment of that… to do what you love regardless the opposition. That, is what makes the line so appealing to me (not just because the clothing itself is fucking cool). Everyone can take the purpose of Nekor in a different light, depending on the situation, or struggle, they face.
It is because of this, Tyler and I were so drawn to what they were doing. We loved the purpose, the idea, the OBVIOUS creativity that is behind its creation, among many other reasons I haven’t the time to type up. Nekor is everything we represent. Some may know that our genre isn’t widely accepted in our area, but we are trying our hardest to change that perception, to better the genre, and our area. We feel dubstep is like that. People need it. There’s plenty behind that, bus as I said I’m on a slight time crunch, and I’ll have to fill in more later.
Explanations aside! Nekor is doing a 9 part video series, the first of which starring our friend DJ Ronix from LA. Ronix has been helping us out as well, most recently with doing a mix of about all of our latest tunes, as well as some old. Much love going out to him. But these videos will be premiering on the Nekor website, once a week, for the next nine weeks. I have to say, at least from what I’ve seen, they’re very powerful, beautifully created, and just all around impressive. These videos visually demonstrate what it is Nekor is about. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to watch this videos each week (I’ll be tweeting about them quite often). At the conclusion of this video series, will be a finale equipped with a highly exclusive DAM track, that will blow you mind, no question. With Nekor behind the video, I’d expect nothing less.
Bottom line, watch the videos, follow them on Twitter, and support originality.
